Stacking the Shelves (#134)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, in which bloggers share the books and swag they've received in the past week!

So, what did I get in the week of Sunday, July 12th to Saturday, July 18th?

(all links to Goodreads are provided!)

In the mail:

AHHH! THANK YOU, @Celeste_pewter!

From NetGalley:

Currently reading this! My first Kleypas novel.

I got a copy from the First Reads program last week (paid for it with pretty much all of my points!), but this one was a widget from the publisher! When the publisher sends you something, you thank them and accept it :D Thanks, Penguin!

P.S. - I have my review of What I Thought Was True posted, and there is a giveaway!

From Edelweiss:

I like this series - Boomerang and Rebound were pretty great!

So excited to read this one! Thank you, HMH!

An Inheritance of Ashes by Leah Bobet

Thank you, HMH!

From Amazon:

Free prequel! Reading the full-length novel soon :D

THE ROSE SOCIETY! That is all.

  2. I'm excited to read Bounce! I've loved the books in this series, so I'm sad that this might be the last book.
I'm also currently reading The Boy Most Likely To and I'm not sure how I feel about it so far. I feel like I've read similar stories in NA books. :/
Brown-Eyed Girl is Kleypas' weakest novel to date, I think! So you should definitely give her HR books a try, especially The Devil in Winter!
    Happy reading!!

    1. I hope you enjoy it! Though I'm sad you didn't *love* TBMLT. I really don't like many NA novels so if you're comparing it to one... o.o

I didn't like Brown-Eyed Girl much! So you saying that makes me feel a bit better. What a way to start with Kleypas, right? :/ I will look up The Devil in Winter!

      Thank you, Nick!

  4. I've yet to read anything by Huntley Fitzpatrick even though I have 2 of her books on my shelves. I need to get on that... soon. Since contemporaries are my favorites I'm sure I'll love them.

  6. I am so curious what you'll think of An Inheritance of Ashes. I've read it and enjoyed it. I don't think it'll be a fave for a good amount of folks since it's slow paced. I hope you like it! Yaaaay to Marie Lu!! Enjoy the books

  8. Great haul, Alyssa. I got Bounce, as well. I read it. I wasn't impressed. I enjoyed Rebound the most. Bounce was a bit disjointed for me. I'm curious to see how you like it. Love the pic of you with The Rose Society! Have a totally terrific weekend! My STS

  25. So sorry for the late reply! I was on vacation and had crappy wifi. Better late then never, huh? :D

I LOVED Bounce. It was my first Noelle August book and now I am hooked. I can't wait until the other two books come in at the library. I wasn't a fan of TYE, I actually DNFed it. But I want to give it another shot because I have major cover lust for The Rose Society. Enjoy all your books Alyssa! <3
