Feature and Follow Friday (#3)

The Feature & Follow is a creative meme that allows bloggers to get to know each other, and gain more followers! It is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

If you would like, it would be great if you followed me via Email, GFC, or Linky (all on the right). Let me know in the comments if you did, leave a link to your blog, and I will comment and follow back! I always do, I promise! Thank you so much!

Q: What is the last book that kept you up late into the night just to finish it?

So... here's a nice truth to put out there:

I've never stayed up late to finish a book.

Never, ever. It's not to say that there are not books that are good enough to make me want to do so. Trust me, there have been numerous occasions in which all I wanted to do was finish a book, and then go to sleep. But here's the thing.

* I share a room with my sister. Well, up until August 2012. And then she moved out to live in at her college. I'm 11 months younger, so I'll be doing the same in August 2013 (most likely). So, she is gone now, but before, I couldn't do that to her (I usually read in our room).

* I have a strict sleeping policy. I have a problem with not getting at least 6-7 hours of sleep. As a teenager, I should be getting about 8 hours. Even with homework and projects - if things aren't done before 11:30, too bad. Because I get up at 6:15, and I want my sleep. But usually, I do not procrastinate, so homework is never an issue. Reading, however, takes time, and I do not allow myself time to read, or do anything but sleep, after 11:30.

What about you?

  2. I totally understand! I don't get enough sleep as it is and I always feel tired! I am equally as diligent about getting to bed on time but ocassionaly i'll make an exception for a book (but usually only on a weekends when I can sleep in!)

    1. Books and homework don't come before sleep for me. It sounds weird, because I am a total book addict, but my health is more important. Thanks, Nicole! :)

  5. That's exactly what I make my kids do, but sadly I don't practice what I preach! I often stay later than I should reading and then I'm like a zombie at work :)

  6. Hehe I usually set a reading time so that I can get to sleep early but as soon as I open up a good book, I'm a total goner. xD Thanks for stopping by! Followed back. :)

  8. Wow! Haha I wish I could say the same. I stay up and it never matters what time I go to bed because I always wake up at 8 a.m. exactly. I can not sleep in at all, so I rarely stay up til the wee hours of the morning unless I have nothing to do or can't go to sleep. You rock thank you for following! New follower! 8)

  13. I probably stayed up late to read 4 times in High School ever. Now that I am married and work in medicine (with crazy schedules) I do it way more.
