Paperback Release Day Promo: Zodiac by Romina Russell

Hey lovelies! Today, I'll be promoting the upcoming paperback publication of Zodiac by Romina Russell, which is TODAY! Happy paperback pub day, Romina! This novel was one of my favorites of 2014. Check out information about Zodiac below, and learn more about my Zodiac sign (which is also Rho's) -- Cancer!

About Zodiac:

Zodiac by Romina Russell
Book One of the Zodiac series
Publisher: Razorbill
Publication Date: December 9, 2014

Summary (from Goodreads):

At the dawn of time, there were 13 Houses in the Zodiac Galaxy. Now only 12 remain….

Rhoma Grace is a 16-year-old student from House Cancer with an unusual way of reading the stars. While her classmates use measurements to make accurate astrological predictions, Rho can’t solve for ‘x’ to save her life—so instead, she looks up at the night sky and makes up stories.

When a violent blast strikes the moons of Cancer, sending its ocean planet off-kilter and killing thousands of citizens—including its beloved Guardian—Rho is more surprised than anyone when she is named the House’s new leader. But, a true Cancrian who loves her home fiercely and will protect her people no matter what, Rho accepts.

Then, when more Houses fall victim to freak weather catastrophes, Rho starts seeing a pattern in the stars. She suspects Ophiuchus—the exiled 13th Guardian of Zodiac legend—has returned to exact his revenge across the Galaxy. Now Rho—along with Hysan Dax, a young envoy from House Libra, and Mathias, her guide and a member of her Royal Guard—must travel through the Zodiac to warn the other Guardians.

But who will believe anything this young novice says? Whom can Rho trust in a universe defined by differences? And how can she convince twelve worlds to unite as one Zodiac?

And now... my Zodiac sign!

My birthday is July 5th, so I'm a Cancer! I've always been proud to be a Cancer, especially since I'm from Baltimore, and our "thing that we're known for" is crabs! :D

According to the official Zodiac series website...

House Cancer represents Nurture. Its people are loving, brave, compassionate, loyal, and selfless, and can also be quite clingy, self-absorbed, and moody. As represented by House Cancer’s symbol of the Crab, Cancrians are hard on the outside but all heart on the inside. Since they love more deeply than others, their hearts often pack more armor.

I don't think I'm clingy or self-absorbed at all, but loyal, compassionate, brave, loving, selfless, sure, why not. :D I am definitely stubborn through and through, and I love the forever type of love, so that's spot on. I'm also the "mom" of my friend group (oops?), and a constant worrier.

The consensus from the internet seems to be that Cancers have long relationships, good memory, dependability, very emotional responses, a temper... I'm cool with these. ;)

And it's fitting the Cancer a water zodiac sign, because I seem to be all over the water groups! I'm a Waterwitch in Susan Dennard's Witchlanders.

  1. It says that Librans are cocky? Hmm, I don't think that's me much, but being fair-minded and charming sounds more like me!

    1. Thank you, Carina! Yeah I did not like the second book as much as I'd hoped. I don't recommend the series to YOU specifically, at all. :|
