"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week, I'm featuring:
Hunted by Meagan Spooner
Book One of the Hunted series
Publication Date: March 14, 2017
Summary (from Goodreads):
Beauty knows the Beast’s forest in her bones—and in her blood. Though she grew up with the city’s highest aristocrats, far from her father’s old lodge, she knows that the forest holds secrets and that her father is the only hunter who’s ever come close to discovering them.
So when her father loses his fortune and moves Yeva and her sisters back to the outskirts of town, Yeva is secretly relieved. Out in the wilderness, there’s no pressure to make idle chatter with vapid baronessas…or to submit to marrying a wealthy gentleman. But Yeva’s father’s misfortune may have cost him his mind, and when he goes missing in the woods, Yeva sets her sights on one prey: the creature he’d been obsessively tracking just before his disappearance.
Deaf to her sisters’ protests, Yeva hunts this strange Beast back into his own territory—a cursed valley, a ruined castle, and a world of creatures that Yeva’s only heard about in fairy tales. A world that can bring her ruin or salvation. Who will survive: the Beauty, or the Beast?
A new Spooner book! While I didn't like her debut trilogy much, I did like her co-written series with Kaufman. I'm excited for this new solo one!
I have such high hopes for this one! I haven't read her trilogy, but I trust her to do great. Thanks for reminding me of this.ReplyDelete
Me too! Hopefully it does not disappoint. ^_^Delete
I'm excited for this one, too! Any Beauty and the Beast retelling is likely to catch my eye lol. Any fairy tale retelling for that matter :D I haven't read any of Meagan Spooner's solo work, but OH how I loved the Starbound books!! Great pick, Alyssa!ReplyDelete
Thank you, Becky!Delete
I adore this cover! The blurb sounds good too although I hate the main character's name. I hope this one is as good as we think it will be.ReplyDelete
LOL! It's an odd name. I hope so too!Delete

Ha! It's a sign. :DDelete
I'm so very excited for this one! Even if I don't really love retellings!ReplyDelete
Awww, you don't love retellings?! :ODelete
This sounds great! I don't read a lot of fairytale retellings but this one has me hooked! I like that it's got a slightly different backstory and her father was hunting the Beast... that's a nice touch! And that cover- yes please. :)ReplyDelete
It does sound different! Hopefully it does not disappoint.Delete
OMG! I don't really read a lot of fantasy, but the first line in the synopsis has me needing this book now! I hadn't heard of it yet, but now I'm off to Goodreads to add it to my TBR.ReplyDelete
Woohoo! You'll be a fantasy addict in no time. ;)Delete
This sounds great and I LOVE that cover! My WoW.ReplyDelete
I've never read this author before, looks interesting!ReplyDelete
This one does indeed!Delete
I'm with you. This book looks so good. I love the cover, too. Great pick!ReplyDelete
Thank you, Natalie!Delete
I add this one because I really want to see how the author pulls it off. I just pray that it isn't like so many other B&B retellings. Great pick!ReplyDelete
I'm curious too! There have been quite a few B&TB retellings, so hopefully this is a different one. Thank you, Lekeisha!Delete
Oh wow... a bit of a wait, but it sounds great! Might have to keep my eyes peeled for this one!ReplyDelete
If you read it, I hope you like it, Naomi!Delete
Excellent pick! I haven't read anything by this author yet, but this one sounds great. I like that cover a lot too. 🙂ReplyDelete
Isn't the cover great? This one needs to be here now. :DDelete
I haven't read anything by Spooner but this one is on my wishlist, only because it's a Beauty and the Beast retelling! Here's hoping it's good :)ReplyDelete
Hey, that's not a bad reason to have it on your TBR! I hope so too. ^_^Delete
YES, YES, A MILLION TIMES YES. I only read her debut and then didn't continue with the series but this sounds AMAZING and like it's definitely going to be so much better.ReplyDelete
I'm hoping this one is better than her debut!Delete
B&B is my favorite fairy tale! I can't wait :)ReplyDelete
YES! I hope we enjoy it, Liza!Delete
I haven't read any solo Meagan Spooner books (I didn't even know she'd written any!) and wasn't a huge fan of her co-written trilogy, but I *did* like the writing in that series, so I may have to check this one out.ReplyDelete
I mean, really: who doesn't love a wintery B&B retelling?
Yup, her debut was Skylark. The series, as a whole, was so-so, just okay. I loved the Starbound series.Delete
Happy reading, Danya!
That cover is fantastic. Looks like a good read :)ReplyDelete
It sure does! :DDelete
Ahh, yesss. <3 This book looks SO PRETTY :D I think it will be amazing. It better be, haha :) Fingers crossed we will both love it. <3 Gorgeous pick sweetie.ReplyDelete
My fingers are crossed as well! Thank you, Carina. =)Delete
