Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, in which bloggers share the books and swag they've received in the past week!
So, what did I get in the week of Sunday, January 8th to Saturday, January 14th?
(all links to Goodreads are provided!)
In the mail:
Thank you, Simon Teen! I've not read anything by this author. I'll see if I have time for this one!
Bear with me for a moment - I ALMOST SCREAMED WHEN I OPENED THIS PACKAGE! Thank you so much, Bloomsbury! I loved The Bone Season and The Mime Order. =)
I've never heard of this book! I'll share it with my little cousin; I think she'd like it. Thank you, Harcourt!
Woohoo! I got a really good deal on this book and another, with Amazon's Black Friday coupon. :D I've read this already - check out my review HERE!
Thank you, Berkley! I've read and enjoyed one of Kery's previous books, so I'm really looking forward to reading this one. Kery's books are SO steamy!
Huge thanks to Penguin/Chelsea for these two! I have been dying to read both of these, and they are going to the top of my review schedule. :D
From NetGalley:
Thank you, Macmillan and St. Martin's Griffin! I liked the predecessors to both of these (These Vicious Masks, The Star-Touched Queen), and I am ridiculously excited about these sequels.
I think that's all! It's been a good week, in books. And a really good week, in my life in general. I have some really awesome news about my future, but I don't want to say anything just yet. Just keep me in your thoughts and prayers over the next month! This week was one of the best weeks I have had in a long time (soooo many things fell into place), and I want to remember this feeling. I hope you all had a nice week as well!
This is such a cool book haul! :) The Dark Days has such a pretty cover :) Can't wait for your review. Funnily enough, we never really knew what an ARC was until now (had to look it up). Lovely post Alyssa! :)
ReplyDelete~ Pendragons
Thank you! I loved the old cover of The Dark Days Club, but the new covers of the series are cool too. Now you know all about ARCs, right? Thank you, ladies!
DeleteOMG I'm so jealous! First I missed Windwitch, how did I forget to pre-order that one? Also I hope I get approved for those two from NetGalley I loved both first books! Enjoy your goodies! My Shelf
ReplyDeleteYou mean Truthwitch, and then Windwitch? Don't worry about it, now you have the chance to binge-read the series! There is probably going to be five books, so you've got plenty of time. ;)
DeleteThank you, Eve!
I read Truthwitch when it came out but I thought I had pre-ordered Windwitch and yeah I got a bit flipped this morning lol
DeleteOhhh, I see what you mean! Hopefully you get the chance to read Windwitch soon though! I'm sure they'll do preorder incentives for Bloodwitch. :D
DeleteSounds like you really had a good week and not just with your books! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThank you! <3
DeleteWhoa so many awesome books! I really like Ellen Hopkins' books so I hope this one is a good read. I think Amanda would die if she saw the arc of The Song Rising. I think she actually read it (got it from Netgalley). But still a physical copy is even better. I hope you enjoy it :)
ReplyDeleteAww that's great about your week! Can't wait to know your knees whenever you can share :)
Genesis @ Latte Nights Reviews
It was a lot! Most of them came yesterday so I didn't even know they were here. I'm really excited about The Song Rising! I think the general mailing went out in October, but hey, I'm not complaining.
DeleteI desperately want to share (because I am soooo excited) but I can't yet! There will be a whole post about "it", trust me. :D
You did get some good sounding ones. I still need to read The Bone Season. These Ruthless Deeds has me curious about that series.
ReplyDeleteI think so too! I loved The Bone Season, and The Mime Order, though I think I need to do a reread. I liked These Vicious Masks (though I had a few issues with it). I'm hoping this sequel will be better. ;)
DeleteYou got a great haul, I hope you enjoy them all! :)
ReplyDeleteSo many great books! I have the Dark Days Club and Rebel of the Sands on my shelf but I still need to read them. I can't wait to see what you think of the second books. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteBoth of those are SO good! I'm hoping their sequels won't disappoint. Thank you, Carole!
DeleteOOooh very nice!! Soooo cannot wait to read Traitor to the Throne! Though it reminds me I need to order the UK one. So upset that the US changed the covers on us...again! So aggravating! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy all your new reads!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
I might have to do the same, though I've already preordered the USA hardcover! I loved REBEL, and cannot wait to read this sequel. I like the new covers but would have preferred the old covers to stay uniform until the series ended.
DeleteThank you!
I'm so excited to hear your big news...good luck! Glad you had a fantastic week, and a big pile of new books doesn't hurt either!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tammy! It's good stuff. I'm going to read until my eyes hurt, that's for sure!

I'm curious about Make Me. I liked the look of the Ellen Hopkins...but I read one of hers, and I just cannot do novels in verse. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
I know what you mean! I'm not really into verse either, which is why I haven't tried any of her books (yet?).

DeleteExciting haul! I loved The Bone Season but haven't read past that book. I need to catch up. Super curious about A Crown of Wishes too. I couldn't get into the first book, but the cover is so pretty for this one! I'm tempted!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your books this week and have a great week ahead, Alyssa!
Too bad it's a seven-book series, and at the rate the author is writing... it'll be forever before the series concludes. Still, I loved the first two books. =)
DeleteI didn't totally love The Star-Touched Queen, but I liked it enough to want to read the next book, you know? We'll see how it goes.
Thank you, Nick!
I need to read Samanthan Shannon's books, I really do! Enjoy all the new additions.
