Monday Muse (4)

Hey fam! Happy Monday! Or something - are Mondays ever really happy? Let's change that! Today I'm sharing another Monday Muse post, which features my hobbies other than reading.

I'm still coloring in my Johanna Basford 17-18 planner! I love coloring. There is something so relaxing about it. Who says adults can't color?!

Here is one page that I've been struggling to finish - there are so many details! I'm finally finished with it though. I shared a picture of it last week so I'm glad I can say I'm finished with it this week!

I also finished the hummingbird one, which I started last week! I LOVE this one:

And I did this flowery one:

And lastly I did this hippo one on Sunday. It's so cute.

I did a lot of coloring this week! I really love coloring. I need more colors though - I feel like I only have 3-4 shades of green and that really isn't enough when you're working with a nature-themed coloring planner.

I did a wee bit of traveling - nothing too far or fancy though. On Friday I was at Lake Kittamaqundi, which is a large man-made lake in Columbia, MD. I'd never been to this lake - it's a bit far from where I live - but it was a very beautiful place. There is a nice trail that goes around the lake and brings you back to the restaurants and pier. It was lovely!

Lake Kittamaqundi, 08/10/18.

AND I caught a photo of a monarch butterfly mid-flight, in my mother's garden. I was actually trying to capture it on the flower but I scared it away. Bummer! Still a cool photo!

In Icelandic studies, I've made a little progress, though not as much as I'd hoped. I want to share this video on some of the common places to know in Iceland! She pronounces the famous volcano that erupted several years ago - Eyjafjallajökull. I can pronounce that now!

And if you're following me on my personal Instagram - @alyssasadventuresinwonderland - you'll see that I'm trying meal prep for lunch this week! I prepped a big salad for three days of the week, plus I made stewed red beans (a Trinidadian favorite). HERE is a pretty good recipe! One day I'll post my mother's which is a little different. I loooove how she makes it and I'm glad I can learn from her.

That's all I've got this week! Hopefully I will have an actual review of book, on Friday. We'll see about that. I've been reading but not reviewing, which is fairly atypical of me, but that's okay. Until next time!
