Hi lovelies! I have a special Penguin Teen inspired post for you all today, along with a giveaway hosted by the fabulous publishing company. Have you heard of April Genevieve Tucholke's latest, Wink Poppy Midnight? If you haven't, you will know all about it by the end of this post!
Wink. Poppy. Midnight. Hero. Villain. Liar. Who is who?
Who would your hero, villain, and liar be, if you were writing a story? Here are my choices.
Hero: Fire
I feel like this book will be chosen in some capacity every time someone asks me to name a favorite ____ or pick a good ____. Fire is a "hero" that I'd want in my corner - she's intelligent and clever and quietly kickbutt, not in an overly physical way. I <3 her!
Villain: Ignifex
I suppose I'm cheating a little, because Ignifex isn't exactly a villain. He's supposed to be one, the great and terrible demon lord and all that, but Nyx finds out that he's something else too... in any case, him and the Darkling from the Grisha trilogy are two of my favorite villains. ;)
Liar: Amar
Amar is a sneaky bastard! He isn't forthcoming with all the information, and it kind of bites him in the butt. He's quite the liar, in my opinion!
Your turn! Who are some of your favorite heroes, villains, and liars?
About the Book:
Wink Poppy Midnight by April Tucholke
Publisher: Dial Books
Publication Date: March 22, 2016
Summary (from Goodreads):
Every story needs a hero.
Every story needs a villain.
Every story needs a secret.
Wink is the odd, mysterious neighbor girl, wild red hair and freckles. Poppy is the blond bully and the beautiful, manipulative high school queen bee. Midnight is the sweet, uncertain boy caught between them. Wink. Poppy. Midnight. Two girls. One boy. Three voices that burst onto the page in short, sharp, bewitching chapters, and spiral swiftly and inexorably toward something terrible or tricky or tremendous.
What really happened?
Someone knows.
Someone is lying.
The Giveaway:
3 winners will receive a finished copy of WINK POPPY MIDNIGHT, SLASHER GIRLS & MONSTER BOYS, and a mystery ARC from Penguin Teen's Summer 2016 list. USA only.
I think you need to convince me harder to read Fire. XD HAHA! I love your love for this book and I definitely need to get to it because of that!
ReplyDeleteAnd Ignifex! <3 I love him!
I can't wait to meet Amar, but I hope his lies don't get to me too much.
Fun post, Alyssa!
Ha! The next step would be to make it rain copies of Fire. :D :D :D I do hope you enjoy The Star-Touched Queen! Amar is a sneaky guy. ;)
