Waiting on Wednesday (#85): Frostfire by Amanda Hocking

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week, I'm featuring:

Frostfire by Amanda Hocking
Book One of the Kanin Chronicles
Publisher: St. Martin's Griffin
Publication Date: January 6, 2015

Summary (from Goodreads):

Bryn Aven is an outcast among the Kanin, the most powerful of the troll tribes. Set apart by her heritage and her past, Brynn is a tracker who's determined to become a respected part of her world. She has just one goal: become a member of the elite King’s Guard to protect the royalty. She's not going to let anything stand in her way, not even a forbidden romance with her boss Ridley Dresden. But all her plans for the future are put on hold when Konstantin– a fallen hero who she once loved – appears to be up to something dangerous, kidnapping changelings. Bryn is sent in to help stop him, but will she lose her heart in the process?

I haven't read any of Hocking's other books - I know this series is a spinoff of her Trylle series. But I'm excited to start somewhere!

  1. Ooh, I absolutely adore the Trylle books and can't wait for Frostfire. Also, the cover is so awesome! (I'm a little intrigued with the apparent rabbit theme. What's up with that???) Great pick :)

  6. Trolls?? *ears perk up* I'm quite interested about a fantasy that'd be about a fantasy creature that are not the fae or other more commonly used one, and trolls are quite rare! I'm gonna keep an eye on this one too!
    Thanks for sharing Alyssa!

  16. I love the red on the cover! Sounds like an interesting read, though thought on the possible love triangle? I feel like the blurb makes it seem like a love triangle. Unless it pulls a The Kiss of Deception, which I totally be fine with, haha. Thanks for sharing!
