Stacking the Shelves (#181)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, in which bloggers share the books and swag they've received in the past week!

So, what did I get in the week of Sunday, June 4th to Saturday, June 11th?

(all links to Goodreads are provided!)

In the mail:

Thank you so much, Fallon! This was an AMAZING trade. She was interested in one of my books, and she put up a great offer! I am so grateful. =)

Thank you, Random House! I am sooooo excited to read this book. <3

A ton of swag (including Six of Crows goodies!)

Thank you so much, Pam! She was looking for an ARC of ACOTAR, and I had one to give! We settled on a mutually awesome trade, and it worked out for both of us. Squee!

From NetGalley:

I. Am. DYING! Macmillan granted my wish on NetGalley! Thank you!

For Review:

From First to Read - yay! I can't wait to read Revis's latest.

A lovely week in books! Only three review books, but five, if you count two from the trades. I am so excited to read all of these! On another exciting note - I'll be attending some B-Fest festivities on Saturday morning! Is anyone else going (or went on Friday)? :)

  1. Isn't it awesome when Netgalley grants wishes?!
And wow that swag *heart eyes* You must be so happy with it :)
I feel like I haven't visited your blog in forever!! Probably because it's the truth. I need to catch up on everything in my life.
Can't wait to read your thoughts on Blood for Blood!
    Have fun at B-Fest!

    1. It is indeed! I rarely "wish" (usually the books I want are request only, or I have auto-approval), so this was nice.

I am so obsessed with all the swag! You'd think I'd have enough by now. NOPE.

      Thank you, Genesis! <3

  3. Whoa! Nice wheeling and dealing you did there for your trades. I always wondered if the publishers granted wishes for real. I've pressed that button a few times. ;)

    Enjoy your weekend, Alyssa!

    1. I went trade-crazy a few weekends ago! I did three trades in one evening and O_O Good thing media mail is a thing (and fairly cheap too!).

      Thank you, Sophia!

      Thank you!

  6. I am always so excited when my NetGalley wish is granted. You had an excellent wish granted! The Shadow Hour looks really good too. I love the swag you traded for. Great haul this week!

  7. Can't wait to see your thoughts on The Forgetting! I'm about to head out to some B-Fest activities myself (at least to see what kinds of freebies they have and encourage them to do more events). Here's hoping it goes well!

    1. I am SO excited about The Forgetting! I loved Cameron's previous three books. I hope you had a great time at your B&N (and got lots of free things). ;D

  8. I'm very curious about The Forgetting! I really like that cover. And OMG The Shadow Hour! I loved that first book so much. I hope this one is great too. :)
Also, girl, you and I need to chat about Beauty of Darkness when you're done reading. I need to know all the romance spoilers. What exactly is the difference between "requests" and "wishes" though? I'm SO confused ... Like is there even a point to them?
Anyways, I hope you enjoy your haul this week and happy reading! :)

    1. It is so beautiful! And it's got this amazing finish to it, which you probably can't tell from my crummy picture.

I'll definitely deal out all the spoilers! I just read a rather negative (and well justified) review of The Beauty of Darkness on Goodreads... well, I think I might not like the book (and NOT because of the romance, thank goodness for that).

Requests and wishes... I think the publisher can grant an unlimited amount of approvals for requests, but wishes are granted in small amounts (like, 50)? Also, if the publisher allows for the "request" option, anyone with auto-approval can go ahead and download. But with the "wish" option, people with auto-approval have to wish too (and can't download). Which sucks for me because I have Macmillan auto-approval on NetGalley, so I could have downloaded The Beauty of Darkness immediately after they uploaded it to NetGalley... but it was "wish only". :/

Hopefully that makes sense! Thank you, Nick. <3

  11. Love the swag! I'm also super jealous of your copy of The Beauty of Darkness. I would ask to review it on Netgalley, but I haven't read the second book yet and I don't want to fall behind in my reading. Oh, who am I kidding?! I 'll probably head over there as soon as I'm done writing this comment. ;)

    Happy reading.

  13. I must be one of the few se Netgalley or grab ARC's! The reason? My physical tbr of books I own but haven't read is up at 700 so I'm giving ARCs a miss until that is under control! Oh the joys of being a bookaholic...Enjoy your books!

    1. Good luck with that! I don't buy many physical books (I'm really loving this digital era, tbh!), so I don't have a similar problem.

      Thank you!

  14. Those wishes being granted is always a nice surprise. I have been seeing The Forgetting around a lot so I bet it's going to be a popular book. I hope you enjoy all of these and I look forward to seeing what we both think of Nevernight. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  17. Wow! What a fantastic haul! I love your Six of Crows swag. How cool! The Forgetting looks amazing. I hope you love it. I really wanted to go to Bfest this weekend, but sadly I wasn't able too. It's a shame because Nicola Yoon was at one near me. :( How was BFest for you? I hope you had a blast!!

    1. Thank you! I had to hunt and hunt and HUNT for that swag.

I'm sorry you couldn't go! There were no authors stopping at my local B&N, but I stocked up on the swag (meaning, I took one of everything. LOL). It was quite fun!

      Thank you, Erin!

    1. Girl, I have to work hard for this mail sometimes! With the trades for sure, the work/effort/money spent is more obvious.

I hope you love The Shadow Hour! It seems like it'll be great, especially after the perfection that was The Girl at Midnight. ;)

I'm excited about A World Without You as well! I hope to read it within the next two weeks.

      Thank you, Carina!
