"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week, I'm featuring:
After Eden by Helen Douglas
Book One of the After Eden series
Publisher: Bloomsbury
Publication Date: November 5, 2013
Summary (from Goodreads):
The day Eden met Ryan changed her world forever. Actually, not just her world. Ryan has time traveled from the future to save the world. In a few weeks, Eden’s best friend Connor will discover a new planet—one where human life is possible. The discovery will make him famous. It will also ruin the world as we know it. When Ryan asks Eden for help, she must choose between saving the world and saving her best friend’s greatest achievement. And a crush on Ryan complicates things more than she could have imagined. Because Connor is due to make the discovery after the girl he loves breaks his heart. That girl is Eden.
Grounded in a realistic teen world with fascinating sci-fi elements, After Eden is a heart-pounding love triangle that’s perfect for dystopian fans looking for something new to devour.
I can't wait to read this book. I vastly prefer the UK paperback version (see HERE), and I'll be buying that.
Nice! Been seeing this one quite a bit lately!

ReplyDeleteIt does! Thank you so much, Carina! :)
DeleteI adore the premise of this book, although I have to admit I'm sometimes confused by time travel, LOL!! And I love the cover too. Great choice, I'll be adding this to my list:) Thanks for stopping by my WOW today!

ReplyDeleteMy Friends Are Fiction's WOW
I don't really like this cover either, but meh, the other one's nicer ;)
DeleteYeah the cover...isn't my favorite. BUT IT SOUNDS SO COOL especially since this character is LOOKING for the Scifi aspect of this. And hopefully won't be all'GASP I DON'T BELIEVE YOU"
ReplyDeleteLOL right?! Love that last part of your comment :D
DeleteThis book sounds awesome. I'm adding it to my must read list!
ReplyDeleteCool! Hope you like it if/when you read it!

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!!
Cool! If you read it, hope you like it, Sarah! My pleasure :D
DeleteTime travel books are not always for me -- and that love triangle makes me wary, but I like to keep an open mind :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking out my WoW! Jen @ YA Romantics
Those two things piss me off to no end - but that's what I keep telling myself. A sort-of love triangle and time travel are both in Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier, but I LOVE that series.
DeleteJust by reading the synopsis I'm sold! I need to read this one :)
ReplyDeleteGreat WoW choice ^^
Now this is My WoW
Oh and I'm a new Follower ;D

I hadn't seen the UK cover before, but you're right, it's so much prettier! It almost instantly made me want to buy this.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you agree! And same o.O
DeleteYou are SO right on the UK cover!! We definitely got jipped on that cover :(
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this book, either but I'm so totally adding it to my TBR!! Great pick! And thanks for visiting me today!
For once, the USA doesn't get the better cover :(
DeleteI hope that if you read it, you enjoy it! You're welcome, Kristin!
This one sounds like it could be really interesting, as long as it's done well... I'm definitely curious about it! And I totally agree about the cover. Usually I like the North American covers better but not this time.
ReplyDeleteRIGHT?! We always get the better covers! Except... with this book. Probably because I think it was sold to the UK, and the the USA bought rights. I have no idea O_O
DeleteThe UK version does look a lot better! There's just something a little off to my eye with the US cover.
ReplyDeleteI saw this last week in a WoW and think it sounds good. Sci-fi and dystopian elements, yay!
Leeanna.me WoW
I just hate how in the USA cover, they're standing right next to each other. It's weird. He looks weird.
DeleteThank you, Leeanna!
I've heard of this one. It looks interesting. I'm looking forward to your review of it! Definitely like the UK cover better!
ReplyDeleteYAY thanks! I'm trying to figure out how to obtain it! :D

ReplyDeleteIt does! Thank you, Nereyda!
DeleteWhat a original sounding plot! Sounds like Eden has a really tough choice. Great pick, Alyssa. Thanks for visiting The Readers Den! :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed! I can't wait to read how everything plays out! You're very welcome, Rachel :D
DeleteThanks for introducing this one. I haven't really seen it before that I remember but you had me at dystopian, sci-fi and love triangle:) I know I'm one of the last people to get excited about the triangle. If done right, I'm still a fan!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm wary of the love triangle bit, but the scifi won me over.
DeleteThis one sure does sound awesome. I'm excited for it too. :) Great pick!
ReplyDeleteYAY! Thank you, Lisa!
DeleteAHA! The UK version is the one I saw on NG! I was looking at this going, it sounds really familiar... but the image isn't triggering anything. LOL. This definitely sounds like a good one. Great pick Alyssa!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my WOW earlier!
Jessica@Lovin' Los Libros
YES! Too bad we can't request it :(

The UK cover is definitely better, but I just like the sound of this story. It sounds very interesting. I will definitely be checking this one out when I get the chance. Thanks for featuring it!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! If you read it, I hope you like it, Jaime!
DeleteHuh, I've never heard of this, but it sounds fascinating! I definitely agree that the UK cover is quite a bit better, too. Great pick! :)
ReplyDeleteRachel @ Paper Cuts
Now you have! And yeah... the UK-ers got the better cover this time ;) Thank you!
DeleteAlready read this one and it was good! The storyline was interesting although Ryan the love interest was a little blah for me but I'm pretty picky with love interests these days LOL Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteWooooo that is SO good to hear! But ughhh, bad love interest, hmm. I'm picky too though. Ah well. Thank YOU, Jennifer!
