"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week, I'm featuring:
Ivory and Bone by Julie Eshbaugh
Publisher: HarperTeen
Publication Date: June 14, 2016
Summary (from Goodreads):
The only life seventeen-year-old Kol knows is hunting at the foot of the Great Ice with his brothers. But food is becoming scarce, and without another clan to align with, Kol, his family, and their entire group are facing an uncertain future.
Traveling from the south, Mya and her family arrive at Kol’s camp with a trail of hurt and loss behind them, and hope for a new beginning. When Kol meets Mya, her strength, independence, and beauty instantly captivate him, igniting a desire for much more than survival.
Then on a hunt, Kol makes a grave mistake that jeopardizes the relationship that he and Mya have only just started to build. Mya was guarded to begin with—and for good reason—but no apology or gesture is enough for her to forgive him. Soon after, another clan arrives on their shores. And when Mya spots Lo, a daughter of this new clan, her anger intensifies, adding to the already simmering tension between families. After befriending Lo, Kol learns of a dark history between Lo and Mya that is rooted in the tangle of their pasts.
When violence erupts, Kol is forced to choose between fighting alongside Mya or trusting Lo’s claims. And when things quickly turn deadly, it becomes clear that this was a war that one of them had been planning all along.
Yaaassss, this sounds awesome! Why isn't it on Edelweiss?! *stalks*
Oh this does sound interesting for sure! I hadn't heard of it but yep that sounds like Kol is in a bad place. Hope it comes to Edelweiss for you soon :) My WoW

I know I'm going to have to be in the right mood for this one--sometimes I read the synopsis and think it sounds amazing. Sometimes I'm not so sure it will be for me. I need more info stat!! :D I hope you end up loving this one, Alyssa!

Old Follower :)
You're absolutely correct, it does have that design that seems repetitive - maybe Snow Like Ashes?
DeleteI hear there's a potential triangle here? I'm not sure, but you'll have to read and confirm to me before I can pick it up! But mammoths though! <3
ReplyDeleteI got confirmation from someone who has read the book that there is NO love triangle, no possibility (apparently it's like actually impossible).
DeleteI'm so very excited for this one because it makes me think of Clan of the Cave Bear and I love those books with a passion!!
ReplyDeleteOooo! That is so great!
DeleteGreat pick! I want to read this as well.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Lekeisha!
DeleteGorgeous pick Alyssa. <3 Cover is so pretty. Sounds interesting :D I hope you will end up loving it when you get to read it. Yay :D But ugh. I'm not reading it. Nope. Sounds very love triangle like. And this part: "but no apology or gesture is enough for her to forgive him." Nope. So not for me. I can't stand that kind of drama, lol :D But hope it will still be a great book for you. <3
ReplyDeleteNo love triangle, according to someone who has read it!
DeleteThis does sound really good. I hope you enjoy reading it.
