Welcome to Week Two of Sweet Talk with the Sweet Sixteens! To see more details about Sweet Talk as well as previous posts, see the introduction post. Thanks to Charlene (Bookish Whimsy), for designing the banner and button for Sweet Talk.
Today, I'm featuring the authors and books publishing during the week of January 12th!
The Questions:
1. Describe your debut novel in sixteen words.
2. Pitch your book! For fans of _____, _____ meets _____, etc.
3. What are you working on now – is it related to your debut novel?
The Authors:
Natalie Blitt, Author of The Distance From A to Z
1. Falling in love, speaking in French, kissing and dreaming, all while avoiding all mentions of baseball.
2. For fans who want to see what would happen if Stephanie Perkins' dreamy characters were stuck in a small class with Miranda Keannelly's sporty stars.
3. Working on a young adult novel that is also obsessed with language and foreign cultures, and another that is sadly about the ramifications of a rape at a high school party.

Patrick Samphire, Author of Secrets of the Dragon Tomb
1. A thrilling, funny Martian adventure full of spies, archaeologists, pterodactyls, strange clockwork machines, and terrible villains.
2. It's Pride and Prejudice meets Indiana Jones on Mars.
3. Right now, I'm putting together a proposal for book 3 in the series, and right after I'll be editing book 2, The Emperor of Mars.
