Waiting on Wednesday (#48): Pointe by Brandy Colbert

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week, I'm featuring:

Pointe by Brandy Colbert
Publisher: Penguin
Publication Date: April 10, 2014

Summary (from Goodreads):

Theo is better now.

She's eating again, dating guys who are almost appropriate, and well on her way to becoming an elite ballet dancer. But when her oldest friend, Donovan, returns home after spending four long years with his kidnapper, Theo starts reliving memories about his abduction—and his abductor.

Donovan isn't talking about what happened, and even though Theo knows she didn't do anything wrong, telling the truth would put everything she's been living for at risk. But keeping quiet might be worse.

Another Friday the Thirteeners book. Also, I don't read nearly enough tough-issue contemporary novels, or dance-related novels. And I like Brandy, so, yeah :)

  9. Don't read Dance of Shadows. That book is rubbish. It's a dance related book that I definitely wouldn't recommend!

However, this boook does look pretty good and the whole mystery definitely intrigues me <3 I think I've got this book on my TBR already :')

    An amazing pick!!

  11. I have been waiting for this book for so long! My passion, other than reading, is ballet. However, I know there are darker risks to dance (like eating disorders) and I think adding the mystery/abduction aspects to the ballet aspects will make Pointe a compelling read. Awesome pick!

  15. I added this one to my TBR list a while back! I did ballet as a girl so any book about ballet and dancing draw me in, and this one sounds creepy and mysterious! I'm hoping it won't be a disappointment as the other one I read...

  17. This one definitely sounds interesting! And dark. And kind of mysterious. I do like my dark contemporary, so although dance novels aren't really my thing, I may have to give this one a shot anyway. I hope you get your hands on it soon and that you love it! :)
