"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week, I'm featuring:
The Great Pursuit by Wendy Higgins
Book Two of the Eurona duology
Publisher: HarperTeen
Publication Date: March 7, 2017
Summary (from Goodreads):
Lochlanach has traded the great beast for something far more terrible, a Lashed enemy veiled in beauty, deception, and a vengeance passed down through generations: Rozaria Rocato. And she’s offering the hunter Paxton Seabolt power and acceptance he could never receive in his homeland. Pax must decide how far he’s willing to go under her tutelage, knowing she is the opponent of Princess Aerity Lochson.
In a land where traditionalists dread change, the Lochlan throne must contend with mysterious foes and traitors, while attempting to keep revolt at bay. As dire circumstances strike the royal family, matters of the castle are left in Aerity’s hands. It's time to put aside her fears and grasp the reign, taking actions that have the potential to save or destroy her people.
One hunt has ended, but the pursuit for love and justice continue. In this sequel to The Great Hunt from New York Times bestselling author Wendy Higgins, political intrigue and romance intensify in another thrilling fantasy. Princess Aerity embraces a quest for identity and passion before making the ultimate sacrifice for her kingdom.
Good grief, this cover looks so fake and stock-image-y. Come on, Harper! Nevertheless, I'm excited for the STORY! I hope Higgins delivers a satisfying ending, after breaking readers' hearts with The Great Hunt.
The cover does look horrible, but the blurb sounds awesome! Hope you don't have to wait too long.

Thank you, Angela!
DeleteOoh yay! Cannot wait for this one as well! Another duology I plan to binge next year! Doing all this waiting for duologies next year! LOL! Hope you enjoy it too!

Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
I think that's a great idea, especially given the cliffhanger at the end of The Great Hunt! Less painful waiting. :D
DeleteI'm so excited to finally read this one and see how Wendy solves things!!
ReplyDeleteGosh I hope she DOES solve things!
DeleteI'm glad there will only be two books. I still need to read The Great Hunt, but I'm in no rush now that it's about to conclude. Great pick!

Yes! Duologies are so wonderful. Thank you!
DeleteHaaah, yessss, that cover is awful, lol :D Not books for me.. but seems sort of interesting :) I hope you will love it Alyssa :D
ReplyDeleteThe first book was okay, not too bad except for the cliffhanger! Thank you, Carina. =)
DeleteI agree, not a great cover but it is the story that counts in the end. I haven't yet read The Great Hunt but I do plan on reading it... eventually. ;)
ReplyDeleteYup, the story indeed. I hope you enjoy the book if you read it!
DeleteI still haven't read The Great Hunt, but I really want to. This one sounds fantastic! Hope you enjoy it ^_^

It's probably better that you might read them close to the pub date of book two! The Great Hunt has a nasty cliffhanger. :D Thank you!
DeleteThat cover is pretty bad. I haven't read anything by this author before. I hope you enjoy reading this book, Alyssa.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by My WoW earlier.
You're welcome!
DeleteI still have never read a book from this author! Her books sound great though. I hope you love this one. Also, I agree the cover is BAD.
ReplyDeleteThis book's predecessor was the first I'd read by her!
DeleteLOL, I agree about the cover, it's one of the reasons why I'm not really excited about this series. I might read book one some day, though.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy it!
HA! Girl, I do not blame you. Isn't it weird, how the mind does that?
DeleteThank you!
I haven't read the first book, but the synopsis sounds great. I agree about the cover too! :D

Regardless of the cover, the book does sound great, as you said!
DeleteYou know, this cover reminds me of the covers of two Amanda Hocking books -- "Frostfire" and "Ice Kissed". It's the same type of thing -- a girl is standing in the woods, and is halfway turned toward the viewer. This book's cover designer(s) sure didn't show much originality! Still, I do like the story -- A LOT, in fact. So I'm adding it to my Goodreads shelves. Thanks for featuring this book, since I had not heard of it!! Hope you're having an AWESOME week!! :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I could see it. Except I like the detailed borders on those books, whereas this book doesn't have any. *sigh* Hopefully the story itself is amazing. :D
DeleteThank you, Maria!
Remember when Harper had such nice covers??? What happened?
ReplyDeleteI heard the first book this week but really struggled with the audio. I think I need to relisten or try to read it instead.

RIGHT?! O_O
DeleteIt's good that you might relisten so close to the pub date of book two! The ending of book one is really mean. :/
Ohh awesome pick Alyssa! I didn't read the synopsis too this one because I really do want too read the first book, and hopefully I can read the first book soon. I just know I will really love and enjoy the first book. I hope you enjoy this one Alyssa. Thank you for stopping by my WOW pick.
ReplyDeleteOoo, perhaps you could binge-read the two! Duologies are great, right? You're very welcome!
