Stacking the Shelves (#214)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, in which bloggers share the books and swag they've received in the past week!

So, what did I get in the week of Sunday, January 22nd to Saturday, January 28th?

(all links to Goodreads are provided!)

In the mail:

Welp, I already got a copy from Penguin (my review is posted!). I don't know why they sent me another. I'll see if I can hunt down a collector!

Unsolicited and new to me! Thank you, HMH. I may actually give this one a chance.

New to me, unsolicited, and probably not my thing. Any MG readers out there? (Thank you, S&S!)

Friends! The spring semester is starting on Monday, so I'll be back to posting random book hauls and being sparse on social media. Best of luck to all fellow students!

It's weird that a publisher sent you two copies of the same ARC... maybe there was a switch in people who are responsible for that particular author?
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading. Good luck with your spring semester - you can do it!

  33. The Dark Days Pact! I won an arc of the first book last year and I haven't gotten around to reading it oops. I do love looking at the book though, it's just so pretty. What do you think of the cover change? I heard of Things I Should Have Known last year at a preview event and I'm very much looking forward to it. I hope you love it!

Good lucky with the new semester!!

    1. I loved the original design. :( But this new design isn't bad. Have you noticed that Penguin (USA) has changed the series' cover before the second book publishes in SO MANY new series, recently? It's kind of annoying, even if the new covers are great too. -_-

      Thank you, Eileen!

  36. I know you've probably been asked this a thousand times...I have emailed pubs about review copies and I have only heard back from Sourcefire (they are awesome) and Scholastic. Very positive responses. I have mailed Macmillan and Penguin and HarperCollins (though I'm not sure I have the right email for HC) and haven't heard anything back.
Am I doing this all wrong? I put my stats in (and they are good), and I try to request a specific book instead of just emailing blindly.
Any advice you can give? I can do it via email or Twitter DM if you don't want to fill up your thread.
    Thanks!

    1. Sourcebooks and Scholastic are great! You might never hear from HarperCollins (their YA divisions, anyway), and Mac and Penguin. They've become soooo selective in who they communicate with.

The thing is, you might think your stats are good (for you), but compared to 39434573498638475 other bloggers, your stats might be a drop in a large bucket. I know that feeling all too well. There are just entirely too many YA bloggers out there!

If you want to email me, I can give a more detailed response as to what you could do! =)
