Swoon Thursday is a hot meme hosted by the fabulous ladies at YA Bound!
- From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering
- Try to make the swoon excerpt 140 characters (or less), if you are going to tweet about it. Use the hashtag #YABOUND when tweeting
This week, my swoon is from The Impostor Queen by Sarah Fine!
His lips are cool and mine are hot. I gasp as he cups the back of my head and pulls me in. It's the delicious rub of ice and fire, hard and soft. His scruff scrapes my face, and I lunge onto my tiptoes. I want to look in the mirror tomorrow and see my own swollen lips, the raw pinkness of my cheeks and chin. I want to know this was real, more than the memory of his hard-muscled body against mine, more than the recollection of his handsome face, more than the echo of his voice in my head.

I chose the swoon from the last scene in the book! It leaves you wanting, and for so many different reasons... good thing there will be a sequel. :)
The first thing I noticed about the above quote is 99% lolll. It's pretty delicious though ;)
ReplyDeleteI chose it on purpose! ;D
DeleteThat's a great swoon-quote, Alyssa! Thanks for sharing :)

It is! You're very welcome. ^_^
DeleteOooooh boy!! If that's how the book ends... it ends with quite a bang!!
ReplyDeleteIndeed! Although... you have NO idea how the ending is, Pili. Believe me, the ending isn't just this!
DeleteWhat a great quote and it does make you feel it. Unfortunately, my books of choice lately have been spy stories or suspense and most didn't have any heavy romance. However, I still enjoy reading about those two people in a room who make eye contact, and you just KNOW something is going to go down. (lol) Hugs...and great topic! RO
ReplyDeleteOoo, wow! That's great - I don't read nearly enough of those.
DeleteThank you, Ro!
*fans self* GOOD THING there will be a sequel INDEED! HOLY CRAP. That was intense. I've never read this one before (cant you tell?) And I've been seeing this one flying around the bookish community for a while now so I can tell that more and more people are going to start freaking out about it! <3
ReplyDeleteYES! Especially given that the ending isn't, well, just this. Sarah Fine is very prolific, I highly recommend any of her books (YA or adult)!
DeleteAhh, awesome swoon :D But.. does it end badly? :( And is there only one kiss in the book, at the end of the book? ACK! I am worried, lol :D Thank you for sharing Alyssa. <3
ReplyDeleteIt ends not as amazingly happy as I would usually like. And this isn't the only kiss - it's my favorite.
DeleteYay for a good swoon! I'm just getting into my pile of 2016 e-arcs, so I'll probably be reading this book soon. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy it, Kaitlin!
DeleteI'm wondering about her wanting it to be real...does this mean she's had encounters that weren't? Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteMeaning certain things have and will transpire that makes her want to hold on tight. ;)
DeleteSigh... that is a sweet swoon! I'd want to see traces of that kiss the next day too!
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
