Waiting on Wednesday (#259): Smoke and Iron by Rachel Caine

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week, I'm featuring:

Smoke and Iron by Rachel Caine
Book Four of The Great Library series
Publisher: Berkley
Publication Date: July 3, 2018

Summary (from Goodreads):

To save the Great Library, the unforgettable characters from Ink and Bone, Paper and Fire, and Ash and Quill put themselves in danger in the next thrilling adventure in the New York Times bestselling series.

The opening moves of a deadly game have begun. Jess Brightwell has put himself in direct peril, with only his wits and skill to aid him in a game of cat and mouse with the Archivist Magister of the Great Library. With the world catching fire, and words printed on paper the spark that lights rebellion, it falls to smugglers, thieves, and scholars to save a library thousands of years in the making...if they can stay alive long enough to outwit their enemies.

If you haven't read this series, you're missing out! There will be five books total and I'm so excited to read this fourth one. July seems so far away but it will be here before we know it!

    1. Indeed! It was originally a trilogy. I'm not mad about it!

I definitely would be mad about a cover change though!

  9. Okay, so see, I wasn't a huge fan of the first book. And am debating if I should read on. I love all the covers, and usually a book about librarians would totally grab me. Oh well, hope you enjoy it when you get your hands on it.

  14. I haven't been happy with the direction the last two books have taken, but I'm chalking that up to the decision to make this a 5-book series from a 3-book one, and I'm still looking forward to this one with the hopes that it will take things back on track :D
