This week, my swoon is from The Midnight Dance by Nikki Katz!

Penny couldn't stop looking at him. Her eyes drifted from his hair to this eyes to his lips to his chest, skipping like a stone across the smooth surface of a lake. She lifted her hand and splayed her fingers, resting them just above his heart. His pulse leapt beneath the pressure of her touch. Cricket reached out and gripped her waist, pulling her closer. Their breaths came faster, and she tipped her head back to look at him. His voice was barely a whisper. "I fear Rosaura is going to  be unhappy with me."

Penny opened her mouth to ask him why, but before she could get the word out, he'd cupped his palm against her cheek, his fingers stretching to the soft skin at the base of her neck, and leaned in to press his lips against hers.

Cricket's touch was petal soft at first. She leaned into him, pressing her mouth against his, desperate to inhale the air from his lungs, the spicy scent of his skin. Her hand slid up his back to his beck, and her fingers gripped the back of his fair to pull him closer. Her lips parted against his and the kiss deepened into something more urgent.
