Top Ten Tuesday (29)

Happy Tuesday! Today I've decided to participate in Top Ten Tuesday, formerly hosted by Jamie at The Broke and the Bookish, now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

Today's topic is:

Halloween/Creepy Freebie

I'm actually not really into horror/scary/Halloween stories! Both YA and adult horror is not my thing. BUT I wanted to share some of my favorite scary books from when I was in elementary school! There are some great (but twisted) stories.

In a Dark, Dark Room and Other Scary Stories
(Ever heard of the story of the girl with the green ribbon? Yeah, that story is in this anthology.)

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (Scary Stories, #1)

More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones

Bony-Legs

It Came from Beneath the Sink! (Goosebumps, #30)
(Any of the Goosebumps books, really.)

Do you have any childhood favorites?

  1. I'm more into horror movies than horror books, if that makes sense? But there's one creepy books that I read when I was younger. It's a book by my favorite Flemish author from when I was a kid about a haunted doll. I still have that book + its sequel and it still gives me the creeps. Also met the author a few years ago and he was so nice to me. *sobs*

  2. Ha! I recognize a few of the covers, but never read them. I don't think I read any scary ones as a kid. Oh, maybe Grimm's Fairytales. Those were pretty dark for a kid.

  3. Ah yes, I remember the Scary Stories. Oddly, I didn't get into the "spooky" books until later in life! I liked my vampires being more characters than raving monsters!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

  4. I didn't read scary stories back then either, and the cover of Scary Stories to tell in the Dark is terrifying.

  5. You know, I never read Goosebumps as a kid. I think the scariest things I read were the HP books growing up - but I'm definitely more into scary books as an adult!
