Stacking the Shelves (#206)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, in which bloggers share the books and swag they've received in the past week!

So, what did I get in the week of Sunday, November 27th to Saturday, December 3rd?

(all links to Goodreads are provided!)

In the mail:

I'm staying at the university this weekend, so I'll post everything next week! It always happens in which I get the most mail... when I'm not home. o_o

From NetGalley:

Flicker and Mist sounds cool. I got Highland Vixen a little while back but forgot to post it. Highland Spitfire (its predecessor) was SO good. Long Way Home is a sampler (an annoying fact that I didn't realize until after I downloaded the book. Oh well!). Thank you, Clarion, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and Harlequin Teen!

Friends, I'm in the final squeeze before Christmas break. I have one more week of classes and then two weeks of finals. So, please bear with me! I'm going to be around sporadically at best. I hope everyone has a lovely week!

    1. Isn't it annoying!? I haven't downloaded the sampler, but since I was approved, it's on my dashboard... *sigh* I guess I'll crack it open. I know I shouldn't complain but I was expecting the full book! Gah!

  8. You had SUCH a great haul this week! I'm really looking forward to Flicker and Mist, myself--here's hoping that you're enjoying the read so far, and that I enjoy it too when I get the chance to pick it up!

Here's my Stacking the Shelves post this week, if you're interested in checking it out. No pressure or worries if you're not, though! Either way, happy book-ing; I hope you enjoy all your recent acquisitions! Have a great rest of your weekend! <3

    1. You must read Highland Spitfire, Teresa! Dude, I think I literally screeched when I realized it was a sampler only. I hate samplers!

  14. UGH! I requested the LWH too, and ughhhhh I didn't realize it was a sampler. I don't understand why publishers even put up samplers on NG! How is anyone supposed to review a sample?! It's like telling a restaurant to critic the raw vegetables used in meal -_-
Anyways! I hope we both love Highland Vixen! It sounds amazing of course and the couple gave me so many shippy feels in the first books, so I can't wait!
    Have a wonderful week, Alyssa!

    2. Dude seriously! I'm thinking about doing a Sampler review post with this sampler and the Windwitch one (I'm reading Windwitch soon anyway, might as well review the sampler they put on NetGalley too). It's annoying though.

I hope you have a lovely week as well! Go take a nap, lady. :D

  15. LOL THE PAIN OF GETTING A SAMPLER. I really don't like those, especially on Netgalley. Like, do I just write some one paragraph "review" as feedback? I guess you just leave a star rating or something and be done with it. Anyhow, enjoy the books and best of luck at university!

    1. I hate them! I hate them even more when I don't realize that it's a sampler that is uploaded on to NetGalley (or Edelweiss)... I can't believe I didn't realize that. Ugh. I have no idea how to review it, but I might combine a few samplers or something.

      Thank you, Aila!

  27. You go home every week? That sounds very nice. I hate samplers, especially when they don't make it clear that it's a sample...

    1. It's like, three out of the four weekends of a month. I go home on Saturday night and come back Sunday evening. It's not even 24 hours. It's so difficult to come home (i.e. not spend the time doing school work), and it's a huge time commitment, but I love going home.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to do with this sampler!
