Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, in which bloggers share the books and swag they've received in the past week!
So, what did I get in the week of Sunday, March 3rd to Saturday, March 9th?

That looks like a lot, but I haven't posted a Stacking the Shelves post in three weeks, so it'll seem that way. Y'all, I'm not in good shape, blogging-wise. Most of you saw my post on Twitter about my dad. For those who didn't: my father passed away very suddenly, three weeks ago today. It was quick, senseless, and not health-related. He was 57, and I lived with him (I live with my parents). I'm still in shock. I'm still grieving. I am not processing it well. Please be patient with me as I try to get back on my feet, in terms of blogging. I really want to be back, but it's taking energy that I don't have. I love you all for still being here. Thank you for everything. ๐๐๐
I'm so sorry Alyssa, I hadn't heard about your Dad. Take care of yourself & mother and don't worry about us. Take as long as you need. My own Dad died suddenly almost 4 years ago and we're only now beginning to 'move on', as they say.
ReplyDeleteSorry again for your loss Alyssa. Take all the time you need away from blogging! We'll still be here when you're ready! Death is always hard. I still miss my grandparents fiercely. They lived right down the street from me and my grandpa used to be a frequent visitor at our house after my grandma passes. Driving by his house is still hard. When we sit in the living room and a car drives by, I'm always looking up expecting it to be him on a drive-by, he used to just drive by our house and not stop by, just like he was checking to see if we were home. My grandparents were like a second set of parents to me after my parents divorced when I was 2, so their loss hit me hard.
ReplyDeleteStill will say very nice looking reads! All new to me ones too! Your swag is awesome! Loving the book sleeve! I have a huge collection of book sleeves these days and have been trying to cut back on how many I buy. Lol. Book buying problem and book sleeve buying problem! They go hand in hand!
Again I'm so sorry for your loss, Alyssa. I've been thinking about you. Just know that you can take the time you need. Your readers will all still be here. I do hope your new bookish goodies can distract you a little and give you some joy at least. Hang in there! ♥
ReplyDeleteOh no, I'm so sorry Alyssa☹ That must be so hard. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts, take care!
ReplyDeleteI am so terribly sorry for your loss. My dad died suddenly when I was 20 years old. He was only 54. He just went to work one day and never came home. It has been more than 24 years and it still hurts. I don't think that you ever get over it but you do learn how to keep living, which is what they would want you to do.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself and your family. Take as much time as you need.
I didn't realize it was not health related. I am sorry for you pain and loss. ((HUGS)) You know we will still be here, when you are ready to come back full time.
ReplyDeleteOh Alyssa, I am SO sorry! I missed your Twitter post, and am absolutely heartbroken for you. Please, take ALL the time you need, we will still be here when you are ready to come back. And the hugest of hugs for you in this terrible time for you and your family. You will all be in my thoughts ♥♥
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your dad, and not having any sort of warning that something like that could happen must make it even more devastating. Take your time, and don't worry about blogging unless you feel up to it!!
