Waiting on Wednesday (#228): The Becoming of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week, I'm featuring:

The Becoming of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin
Book One of the Shaw Confessions series
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: November 7, 2017

Summary (from Goodreads):

In the first book of the Shaw Confessions, the companion series to the New York Times bestselling Mara Dyer novels, old skeletons are laid bare and new promises prove deadly. This is what happens after happily ever after.

Everyone thinks seventeen-year-old Noah Shaw has the world on a string.

They’re wrong.

Mara Dyer is the only one he trusts with his secrets and his future.

He shouldn’t.

And both are scared that uncovering the truth about themselves will force them apart.

They’re right.

I NEED THIS. It has been so long since I read the Mara Dyer trilogy - I'll definitely need to reread the books. But this new book is an instant preorder for me!

  7. Okay so I couldn't read anything about this one because I saw the cover and author and just knew it would be related to Mara Dyer series which I sadly have not yet read but I do plan to read in the future. Now I guess I have more of a reason to do so ;)

  13. So don't kill me, but I never read the Mara Dyer trilogy. I've been wanting to read it, seriously I have, but I want to have the physical books to read them. But once I saw this, I went crazy! That cover is just beyond gorgeous and creepy and I love it!

  14. I haven't gotten the chance to read anything from this author yet, but I'll have to check out the original trilogy. The cover for this one is really pretty. I hope you enjoy this one!

  15. Oh my goodness! I had no idea this was in the works. Is it a new storyline or Noah's POV on the first trilogy? If it's a new story then on the one hand, YES. On the other...haven't these characters been through enough?! LOL.

    1. I think it's a new storyline! I saw some things about it being a parallel story to the Mara Dyer book one but given the synopsis, I don't think that's the case... I'm pretty sure it takes place after the Mara Dyer trilogy.

BUT ACTUALLY! Leave the children alone! *cries* I hope things end better? Maybe? *hides Noah and Mara*

I will definitely be going back to re-read this series. If you want to do a buddy read on this series, let me know cause I'm down for it.

  24. Awesome pick! I loved the Mara Dyer series because of Noah. In fact, I thought the final book in the series wasn't quite as good as the first two simply because there wasn't enough of him. I can't wait to get my hands on this book as well! Thanks for stopping by my WoW.
