These Are a Few of My Favorite: "Old" Adult Romance Books

Hello, everyone! Today I'm sharing some of my favorite "old" adult romance books. What do I mean by "old"? I'm classifying "old" as published over five years ago (or thereabout). I started to read adult romance in 2011 (before I started blogging), when I was sixteen. To this day, a lot of them are still some of my favorites! Keep in mind, these are just a few of many. Also, a few of these are not quite old. Enjoy!

You can check out my favorite "old" YA books HERE!

I'm sure I'm missing some books. I reread several of these books constantly, when I'm stuck in a reading slump (like Spinning Gold and Through a Dark Mist). Tell me - what are some of your favorite "old" adult romance books?

  1. I've got some Marsha Cantham and Elizabeth Hoyt on the shelf still to read. I'll have to check out a few that are totally new to me. Thanks for sharing your list, Alyssa!

My favorite oldies are Mary Stewarts, Victoria Holts, and Phyllis Whitneys from the sixties, but for the nineties I got hooked on Mary Balogh, Jo Beverley and Anne Perry. Then in the new millennium it was Patricia Briggs and a host of PNR/UF writers.

  2. Cool - I haven't heard of any of these - I think I took a break from romance right when you started reading it!

  6. I haven't read any of the books on your list. I think I was reading a lot paranormal books 5 years ago.

  11. I can't say that I recognize any of these but a couple of the covers have me intrigued. I read a lot of romance as a teen but kinda stopped. I'm slowly getting back into the genre and Wicked Intentions and Vengeance Borne have both been added to my TBR.

Fun post -- thanks for the reccs!

  12. Love that series from Hoyt. She's so fun. I typically love Ashley, too, but man that was a hardcore DNF for me. All her others are easy 4-5 stars, though.

  13. Except for Hoyt, these are new to me. Some of my favorites: A Year and a Day by Virginia Henley, Castles and Saving Grace from Julie Garwood, Morning Glory (and a lot more) by LaVyrle Spencer, Radiance by Grace Draven. I can probably list like 10 more! I also love re-reading Julia Quinn and Amanda Quick.

  14. Through A Dark Mist is a awesome book!!! I do love the oldies. Wicked Intentions was fun and I had a blast with Ashley's book too. She wrote her pirate books dang good.

Some of mine are Texas Glory by Lorraine Heath, Petals on the River by Kathleen Woodiwiss, Silver Angel by Johanna Lindsey, Lady Sophia Lover by Lisa Kleypas, This Is All I Ask Lynn Kurland.
