Stacking the Shelves (#211)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, in which bloggers share the books and swag they've received in the past week!

So, what did I get in the week of Sunday, January 1st to Saturday, January 7th?

(all links to Goodreads are provided!)

In the mail:

YAY! Thank you for the trade, Becky! I've read this one and really loved it; this ARC copy is for my Bracken collection!

Another trade, this time from Katie. I'm not too familiar with this book but really wanted her to have the book I had that she was looking for. Thanks, Katie!

Trade again, thank you, Tracy! I wasn't really dying to have the book (I've read Black Ice and really liked it though), but I wanted Tracy to have the book I had that she was looking for. :D

From NetGalley:

Huge thanks to the publicist for sending the widget. I also learned that there won't be bound galleys printed for this book! I'm doubly grateful for the electronic invite to read it. =)

From Edelweiss:

Once I got confirmation that there is no love triangle in this book (there isn't), I downloaded it immediately! It sounds perfect for me (we NEED more YA with strong environmental themes!).

That's my week in books! I can't believe a week of 2017 has passed already. I went back to uni to work, and it feels like so much time has passed. Longest week ever! I'm already very used to it being 2017. A heads up - I'm using the four weeks of "winter break" that I have, to study for the FE exam (think of it as the engineering version of the MCAT). Study is going... okay? I pretty much have to relearn every single engineering class I've taken in college (and teach myself a few that I haven't taken yet). I just need to pass it, it doesn't matter the score!

  1. Love triangles are real dealbreakers for me and I will avoid them no matter what! Good luck with your studies and enjoy your books!

  2. Wow lovely books! I read Black Ice a while ago and while I didn't love it (the characters were annoying) I adored the creepy atmosphere.
Good luck with the engineering classes; re-learning?! That's a pain! Hope it goes ok :)
    Happy reading!

    1. Yes! Most of my recent trades have been to help others get what they're looking for, because I have a lot of old ARCs and books.

I'm working to do better with that, but I rarely seem to have anything people really, really want. :-( I need to read Passenger soon, I hear such great things about it! I think it's great that you trade books so others can get the titles they want. I haven't done an organized trade before, but I swap on PBS. I try to get books that my daughter would like -- she really enjoys the newest reads.
