Stacking the Shelves (#190)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, in which bloggers share the books and swag they've received in the past week!

So, what did I get in the week of Sunday, August 7th to Saturday, August 13th?

(all links to Goodreads are provided!)

In the mail:

YES! Thank you, Harper Blink! This sounds awesome.

Thank you, Random House! I'll be binge-reading this series next week.

Another series I'll be binge-reading soon! Thank you, Roc. =)

Thank you, SMP! I'll be giving away a copy very soon.

Neat! I didn't even know this was heading my way. Thank you, Piatkus!

BEAUTIFUL! I got three of these Classics last week, and here is another. Thank you, PRH!

From NetGalley:

I really liked Too Hot to Handle! I'm hoping this one will be great.

From Edelweiss:

I thought Walk on Earth a Stranger was okay, so I'm interested in reading this sequel!

Not a bad week! I've been watching the Olympics like crazy. It's been amazing and exciting, but rough on my sleep schedule (the East Coast and Brazil are on the same time zone, so I am able to see a lot of events live, after work). So I've been going to bed later and later. But the Summer Olympics only comes around every four years, right? Go Team USA!

  2. Toward a Secret Sky looks interesting. I'll keep an eye out for your review for that one. I'm excited you're going to read the Rachel Vincent series. I loved that first book and I'm looking forward to picking up the second soon. I'm reading Like a River Glorious and I'm so loving it!
    Happy reading! :)

    1. It does! I'm excited about it. And I remember seeing your review of The Stars Never Rise! It's one of the reasons why I pushed myself to read/review this series.

      Happy reading to you too!

  3. Ooh nice haul! I loved The Flame Never Dies! Good idea to binge the duology! I had my memory issues when I read it earlier this year! LOL! Thankfully it wasn't too bad to get back into the groove of things! I liked it, though still kind of wish there would be more! Happy Reading!

My STS post will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  4. I enjoyed Walk on Earth a Stranger, but I remember not being thrilled for the sequel at the end. The Olympics have been pretty exciting! Especially the swimming. I'm sad I haven't caught more of the tennis, though. Oh well, we're close to the US Open now, right? :)

    1. LOL! I know what you mean. The swimming has been SO great for the USA! The tennis... in general, I found the tennis to be terrible! I hope things are more "normal" for the US Open. :D

  5. That's a nice haul! Toward a Secret Sky looks interesting. I saw Tessa's book on NG and I might request it since Nick raves about the author. I haven't watched much of the Olympics but I'm happy my island is getting it's name out there in Tennis!
    Have a good week!

    1. I like Tessa's books too! And I saw Monica Puig is in the final. She's been okay on the WTA tour, so it's nice to see her take advantage of all the big players being out. :D

  7. I am not familiar with most of these, but based on first impressions they look intriguing. I'm guessing they are good since you're planning a bit of binge reading.
I've been terrible at watching the Olympics since I'm out on vacation in the mountains hiking trails with my family. I snag a bit when we come back to civilization between beauty spots. :)
    Have a good week, Alyssa!

    1. Binge-reading takes the sting out of cliffhangers! Which is good.

Hey, hiking and being outdoors is SO much healthier than watching the Olympics! Good for you. ^_^

      Thank you, Sophia!

  10. I still need to read Rachel Vincent's new YA books. I read her Soul Screamers series and really enjoyed it (except for the last book, which I don't like to talk about), and I would like to read her Shifters series sometime too.

She's a really good writer, so I hope you enjoy her new stuff. Oh, and thanks for visiting Shell's Stories. :)
