  3. Mostly on goodreads, but sometimes I found a website that mention a list of debut authors, like the publisher’s site or book clubs’ site. I’m constantly checking epic reads site for new author thou and giselle @booknerd.ca really helps with list of new releases.
    hope it’s help :)

  11. More often than not, I discover debuts through Twitter (authors/agents/bloggers post PM announcements) or Goodreads, when I see bloggers I follow add debuts to their shelves.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I find Twitter and Goodreads the most helpful. Goodreads has release lists. And Twitter is through word of mouth. Some bloggers on Twitter actively share books. Rachel @ A Perfection Called Books is really helpful :D

  13. I discover them through other authors or blogs that I follow. Sometimes in my local book store. :)

    ReplyDelete
  14. I use contests to try out new authors. It also helps me pick stories that I typically wouldn't pick up in a store. I like the quick fire questions interviews. I read bloggers posts and tend to pay attention to bloggers that typically like the same books I do. Goodreads is useful but I don't really go there first and don't rely solely on it.

  37. Goodreads is my basically my go to, i put a lot of store into their recommendations. But i've noticed recently i am more likely to look into a book if i've seen it somewhere else before, adds, reviews (even if i havn't read the review and only seen the picture on a blog). I also look for blogs that have similar favorites as i do and see if there are any of their favourites i've not read so i can try them out. And if a new book has become available on audible or in bookstores and i like the cover I'm likely to look into it.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I always look through the the New Releases per month on Goodreads lists and then I read the description of the book - I'm not really helpful because I rarely look at the publisher/look if it's a debut unless it is stated in the synopsis...
