Waiting on Wednesday (#127): Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week, I'm featuring:

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
Book Four of the Throne of Glass series
Publisher: Bloomsbury Kids
Publication Date: September 1, 2015

Summary (from Goodreads):

Sarah J. Maas's New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series reaches new heights in this sweeping fourth volume.

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she's at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past . . .

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die just to see her again. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen's triumphant return.

Celaena’s epic journey has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions across the globe. This fourth volume will hold readers rapt as Celaena’s story builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

I mean... of course. I didn't have the best start with this series, but Heir of Fire was really. The length of this one is super daunting, but I'm excited to read it!

  4. Did you read the excerpt in the "12 Books You Can't Miss at BookCon 2015" ebook? It was free in the iTunes store a month or so ago, and might still be available, and it has the first three chapters from QoS! It also has excerpts from other great authors, so it's definitely worth checking out.

    1. I agree - it's a long book and definitely moves at a slow pace, but it was pretty great! Especially compared to the other two books (I didn't particularly like Crown of Midnight, tbh). Anyway. Happy reading!

  11. I'm seeing a lot of this around and I can't wait!! Even though I haven't read Heir of Fire yet... I'll probably try and read Heir of Fire when Queen of Shadows releases so I don't have to wait too long between them. But all of Sarah J. Maas' books are awesome so great pick ;) Thanks for stopping by!
