Giveaways:
Beyond the Borders:
- Fire by Kristin Cashore: hands-down the BEST fantasy novel I've ever read. I can literally dream about the world Cashore has created.
- Wounded by Jasinda Wilder: I'd never read a book about a girl-turned-prostitute before. It's very interesting to see things from Rania's perspective.
- Heartbeat by Elizabeth Scott: this book held a personal meaning to me, because something very similar happened to my aunt. I FELT so much while reading this book.
I really must add the Kristing Cashore books to my list of books to read ASAP!
ReplyDeleteLIKE RIGHT NOW. Consider them "Alyssa pushing" books. Fire is my favorite book of all time.
DeleteI did really like that Graceling and Fire were not set in a traditional, European medieval fantasy world. W're seeing more and more books like that, which is good. Have fun with Armchair BEA!
ReplyDeleteYES! I agree! And you as well!
DeleteI have sort of a soft spot for prostitute books. That sounds SO weird, but it's a state of being so far outside my realm of reference, I just eat those books up! Great choices for Beyond the Borders!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Andi, you just made me LOL.
DeleteAhh, Andi, I understand - I feel the same about all the historical romance novels I read!
DeleteI'll definitely have to check 'Fire' out if you think it's the best one out there! Actually, all three of them sound amazing! I read a Dutch book for school about a girl turned prostitute and it was amazing but also heart-wrenching!
ReplyDeleteGreat post :)
