Stacking the Shelves (#66)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, in which bloggers share the books and swag they've received in the past week!

So, what did I get in the week of Sunday, March 22nd to Saturday, March 29th?

(all links to Goodreads are provided!)

From Edelweiss:

Um. YES! I love this cover. And I enjoyed Hush, Hush (though not so much the rest of the series), so I can't wait to read this one!

I liked the first book, so I'm delighted to have the chance to read the companion novel!

Fairy tales! Free-verse poems! Sounds good to me.

First week back was LONG O_O But it's over. How are you all? :)

  1. Back to school/routine is never easy! But getting some nice books should help!
I'm quite envious to see that you got In A Handful of Dust, so I cannot wait to hear what you think of it!
And I'm quite curious about Black Ice, even if I DNFed Crescendo and never continued the series...
    Happy reading, Alyssa!

    1. I'm definitely excited to read these new books, so that is something to look forward to. I hope you get that one as well, Pili! It won't be long before you do ^_^ I liked Hush, Hush, sort of liked Crescendo, but then Silence and Finale were eh. I'm hearing excellent things about Black Ice though, so that's cool with me.

      Thank you!

  7. Poisoned Apples sounds so interesting! Thanks for sharing and happy reading!

  8. Poisoned Apples looks so cool! It also looks so different from the books I usually read. I haven't read Not a Drop to Drink, but I definitely will this summer. Having the sequel/companion to a book pushes me to read it.

Black Ice looks really good (I enjoyed Hush, Hush too) but I have the worst luck with Simon & Schuster, so I didn't even request it from Edelweiss. Hopefully it's as good as everyone hopes it will be!

I see that you're reading The Taking. What are you thinking of it so far? I'm about 60 percent into it.

    1. Poisoned Apples is all free-verse poems, so that's unique! And I hope you like both of McGinnis's books.

Well, I hope you read Black Ice sometime, if it appeals to you! I hear excellent things about it :D

I just finished another book so I'll be reading The Taking next! I updated the widget a little prematurely. Hopefully you're enjoying it? I've seen many mixed (read: negative) things about this one recently O_O

  21. I am SO excited for In a Handful of Dust. NADTD was my favorite book of 2013, and I feel certain I'm going to love this one. I haven't read anything by Becca Fitzpatrick, but I do love this Black Ice cover, too. Hope you enjoy the story just as much!

  25. Ahhh I almost grabbed in A Handful of Dust but I want to read Not A Drop to Drink first. I am having a little bit of a hard time with it so far so I'll wait on In A Handful of Dust until I know whether or not I like Not a Drop to Drink.

    Happy reading Alyssa!

  30. I can't decide if I want to read Poisoned Apples! Free-verse novels weird me out, but this one sounds so gooooood that I want to try it! I'm afraid to get it for review, though... Black Ice looks pretty awesome too. :D

At least you're getting back into the rhythm, which is actually better (I think) than coming right out of the break, eh?

    1. I'm actually a bit cautious of them as well, but I love anything that has to do with fairy tales, so that's that. Also, it's short. I'm okay with short. I'm also okay with lengthy, but that's neither here nor there. I'm SUPER excited to read Black Ice, but I already know I won't be reading it for another few months.

And I'm definitely getting back into the swing of things... unfortunately. My eyeballs are on strike and definitely want to do a coup d'etat because THEY HURT. Too much studying lol.

Good luck going back to school! Hopefully Monday treated you well, and Tuesday is going great ^_^
