"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week, I'm featuring:
The Fire Wish by Amber Lough
Book One of The Fire Wish series
Publisher: Random House Children's
Publication Date: July 22, 2014
Summary (from Goodreads):
A jinni. A princess. And the wish that changes everything. . . .
Najwa is a jinni, training to be a spy in the war against the humans. Zayele is a human on her way to marry a prince of Baghdad—which she’ll do anything to avoid. So she captures Najwa and makes a wish. With a rush of smoke and fire, they fall apart and re-form—as each other. A jinni and a human, trading lives. Both girls must play their parts among enemies who would kill them if the deception were ever discovered—enemies including the young men Najwa and Zayele are just discovering they might love.
FANTASY! This one sounds so great!
OOoh that looks intriguing! Sounds like a good read! Hope you enjoy it once you get it!

Old Follower :)
Thank you, Jessica!
DeletePretty cover <3 sounds pretty awesome :D I hope you will end up loving it when you read it. <3
ReplyDeleteI agree! It does. Thank you, Carina!
DeleteOooh this sounds good, and now I want to watch Aladdin :)
ReplyDeleteHehe. You should!
DeleteNajwa doesn't sound like a good spy if she got caught haha. This sounds pretty cute, like Freaky Friday! ..But also action-y. Awesome pick, thanks for highlighting this!
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW (:
Well... I don't know what to say to that. But hopefully the book is good. You're welcome!
DeleteThis is a good one! Great pick!
ReplyDeleteThis is our WOW of this week.
Leydy @OUaT & RCE
Thanks!
DeleteI think I've heard mixed reactions about this one; but it does sound like an interesting concept, so I'll keep an eye out. :)
ReplyDeleteI have not seen a single review for this one.
DeleteNo? Hmm, I'm not sure where I heard it talked about, come to think of it. Maybe I'm confusing it with one of the (many) other new releases. Wouldn't be the first time. :)
DeleteThat could be it! Your comment made me panic a little internally, because I so want an ARC! Or eARC! So I would have hunted down those people who already read/reviewed this one (via ARC/eARC that is, if it were possible at the moment).
DeleteAnd yeah there like a billion amazing 2014 (and 2015!) releases coming at us... I know your feeling ;)
Ooh I haven't read many books about genies, but the fact that it's not only about them but also revolves around deception which is always a fun topic. Nice choice, Alyssa!
ReplyDeleteMe either! And right?! Complexity :D
DeleteOoo this one sounds really epic! Great choice!
ReplyDeleteI have been so happy that I am seeing more and more ya fantasy books lately. I am a huge fan of fantasy, and you are right, this one does look really good.

Michelle @ Book Briefs
Me too! Fantasy is my favorite.
DeleteOoh! I like the sound of this! Like the Princess and the Pauper! On to the TBR list it goes! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd it would've been amazing if your comment had simply been "FANTASY!" and that's it. I would've lol'ed. But maybe that's just me... :D
I should have done that - simply blurted out one word, because OF COURSE that's a good enough reason ^_^ Although, "fantasy" IS a more than good enough reason. Hehe!
DeleteGreat pick! this one does sound great can't wait to check it out when it comes out!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I hope you do!
DeleteOh I love the name Zayele! It's my friend's daughter's name! Just spelled differently! I always get the best fantasy picks from you Alyssa! You are seriously my go-to girl for fantasy! Thanks for another one!!! <3
ReplyDeleteOoo, that's very cool! It's pretty :D And ha! I'm glad to provide the titles for you, if only for you and you alone :) You're very welcome, Jess!
DeleteThis one sounds absolutely unique! I've only read one other genie book, so I think this one'll be a breath of fresh air. *adds to wishlist* Thanks for sharing! :D
ReplyDeleteAimee @ Read by the Undead
I don't think I've never read a genie book! But I'm glad you're interested in this one. You're welcome!
DeleteHmm... sounds like a pretty cool fantasy, is this middle grade or YA? Lovin' the cover ^_^
ReplyDeleteA great pick,
Sam @ Falling Books
I believe it's YA! But I guess I'll have to read it to find out.
DeleteI've never heard of this, but wow! It sounds like a great concept. I adore jinni stories, and I think there need to be more of them:) Going on the list! Thanks for visiting my WOW, Alyssa:)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely something I think I would enjoy! I hope you read and enjoy this one. You're welcome!
