Happy Friday, bibliovores! Today is another day in which I didn't feel like writing/posting a review, but did feel like posting something... so I'm doing another favorites post! You can check out my other favorites posts in a previous posts (for example).
Here are some of my favorite YA book cover changes! Last week I did a post on my favorite "original" covers - covers that were advertised before publication, but then the cover changed before publication. This post is all about cover changes that happened after publication, that I liked!
These are just a few of a good number of examples in which I actually really liked the cover change! And these are books I read and loved - this list does not include books I hated (but loved the cover change) or books I've not read (but loved the cover change). Sometimes, change is good! More often than not, it isn't, but that's a list for another day.
I had such issues when they changed the Shatter Me cover. I really loved the one with the girl in the dress and it was the cover that I owned. I felt like it pictured the book better than the new one, although the new one is beautiful for sure.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of the "eye" Shatter Me covers. The dress was nice, but the eyes match the vibe better.
ReplyDeleteI like that later version of Shatter Me a LOT!
ReplyDeleteThese are definitely pretty cover changes. We especially liked the cover change for Strange the Dreamer. It's the one at our local library, though we've yet to read it.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you too!

I also really liked all of these cover changes, especially for Shatter Me. I like the new cover a whole lot more. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI was just complaining about the Ember ones because while i like the new ones they don't match now and that annoys me lol. I feel like if they change the covers in the middle of a series they should have a place people could get the new sleeves for their hardcovers!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of the Shatter Me series cover change. There are so many YA books where the heroine is just standing on the cover, so I liked the change. I actually like the original covers of Ember in the Ashes better, but the new covers seem more accessible, and I think readers who are new to YA wouldn't be as daunted if they see a cover that is more generic. I haven't seen the new Shadow and Bone cover, and I love it!
